Unlike J. Alfred Prufrock, I have not measured out my life with coffee-spoons. I have, however, measured out aspects of my life with fountain pens – and with notebooks, typewriters, cameras, guitar strings and plectrums, among other things. Some of the results of these endeavours are on these pages.
