The moments when we meet
Alight like a bird on my hand
As a bird might alight on my hand
If birds ever alighted on my hand
Not that birds do so
Not that birds have ever done so
And the wonder is
That when we part
I feel your fragile feet
Wrapped around my finger
And I wear that ring faithfully
Until we meet again
